Pietro de Francisco (1873-1969) was born in Palermo, Italy and frequently painted landscapes and genre scenes of the area. He also worked in France and, in 1926, exhibited a view of Provence at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris.

Additionally, Francisco showed his Orientalist works at the Parisian Salon of the National Society of Beaux-Arts.
